1969 P5B 3.5 Litre V8 Coupe

p5pete
 • Pre 1990 Petrol 3.5 Automatic Coupe 20 20 1500 5 MPG. Wish it would do 50 MPG but no amount of tuning will help. Perhaps when they come up with a good battery & motors. Think I will be gone by then. 5 I remember coming out of Matlock, I think, and a Mini (old) buzzing me from behind on the bends. Then we went up a long uphill straight and I put my foot down, not as far as using kick-down, and the mini was left far behind and I was towing an Abbey 418 twin axle. 4 Gorgeous 4 Rising Prices.
Get one if you can. 4 More space than you need.
The clubs treasurer is 6 ft 7 inch and it is fine for him. 2 Used Privately Not as honest as you would like. https://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/uploads/monthly_08_2014/ccs-68319-0-19555100-1407706385.jpg Yes
Good looks.
Pulls like a train with a good flexible engine and 3 speed auto box. Did not make much difference with MPG doing short around town journeys and longer journeys towing.

I used to tow with a 1972 P5B saloon and agree they do pull well but I found the back end was a bit light . The only common problem they had was the camshaft and the rear crankshaft oil seal would leak.

It was always considered to be one of the best for towing at the time, I always wanted one but couldn't afford one. Maybe I will be able to buy George Gentley's if he's finished with it?......Peter

A long time ago as a Student I stood by the M6 junction at Haydock and this big Rover pulled up and gave me a lift all the way to Oxford. What I remember most was flying down the motorway at a steady 105 ( no speed limits in those days ) and the car did mot seem in the slightest bit stressed. It was a very memorable trip.
