BGB
Next week we are making the journey from Edinburgh to Alton towers and want to head off on Thursday night and get a short stopover for the night. Anyone know somewhere that's close to the m6 and probably about 4 hours from Edinburgh? We are a family, with a dog and c&cc members. ? MalH
There are several decent CLs around Longridge just off the M6/M55 junction. Our favourite is Ye Horns Inn, wonderful old pub with decent food, site is hard standings with EHU. SamP
Another vote for Ye Horns Inn. Or theres Dale View and Broadgate Farm just outside Garstang, both very nice quiet little CL's although a little bit further from the M6 than Ye Horns. harrybrook
Hi BGB You might want to try Turnover Hall Farm between J33 and J32 of the M6 PR3 0UE £14 pn midweek with all the basics EHU toilet/showers etc. cl field advertised but many more pitches available. Hard standing or grass. Harry

Yes, +1, we have stayed there a couple of times and found it to be a very nice and quiet place to stay. It's a couple of minutes off the M6 so very convenient - almost a service station for Caravans! Very handy for the M6. Good suggestion FG. Jim.
BGB
New park side was a choice nut they started adding on extra for kids and dog. For an overnight stopover I'm not happy paying £21 for 12 hours stay where I will be sleeping 8 of it. Ye Horns looks good but the mrs is concerned about the toilets only being in the pub during open hours. Not to good for us wanting to leave at 9am Edited September 5, 2014 by BGB Quote ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2015 BMW 330d Touring Xdrive pulling A 2014 Bailey Unicorn S2 Cadiz
