Our 10 week old caravan has numerous problems. The last straw was on the 2nd day of our 2 week holiday we woke up to find the heki roof light was leaking. After getting in touch with our dealer and he got a mobile bloke out to do a temp job to get us through the rest of our holiday. He found that the roof of the van is not flat and the heki was sitting in a deep puddle and the mobile bloke felt that as the roof is not flat, every time the van goes on the road, the flexing would always break any seal.

Do we HAVE to allow the dealer the chance to repair or can we insist on a replacement or refund?

I had a leak very similar through the bathroom roof vent. Dealer resealed it and has been fine since.

Most new vans have flat roofs that tend to hold onto the water, I always pitch my van slightly nose down to allow the water a chance to run off.

Hi we had a 2013 affinity 540 for 8 months with too many problems to list, we didnt have a problem with leaking roof lights but we changed ours from the standard ones to mini hekis in the kitchen and bedroom areas before we picked it up . We no longer own the affinity, as we got fed up of having it repaired, but we did replace it with an elddis crusader mistral which has so far been faultless after 4 months of extensive use
