Dometic Fridge Problem

Hi I'm hoping someone can help I have a dometic r m 7371 L fridge in my 2007 lunar caravan the fridge works fine on electric lights on the gas fine but the light flashes I have checked that the flame is lit and stays on but the light flashes for about an hour then the fridge starts clicking again and then relights itself I have checked that there is no dust inside the vent and give the wires a wriggle but no luck has anybody else had this trouble????? Thanks in advance

Hi Mc1 and welcome to the board.

 

I too have a Dometic absorption fridge, but not the same model as you; therefore this is just a guess on my part.

 

During long periods of non-use the flue is a favourite habitation space for spiders and their webs. When used on gas a clear flue is essential. Try cleaning the inside of the flue. Hope this helps. :)

My suggestion would be to get the fridge checked by a Gas specialist. If it hasn't been used for a long while on gas, the ignite can be a problem.

As said I would get it serviced as it could be a part blocked chimney or gas jet. .

 

Has the gas got plenty of pressure or is the bottle running out.

Thanks for the responses I left the fridge on for a couple of hours and it gone cold which I think is strange as according to the instructions the flashing light indicates that it's not working but I think lie take your advice and get it checked by a specialist thanks again
