jordonjb
Hello, I wonder if someone can help me with this I've recently bought a 1997 Abbey Expression caravan I've just had it serviced before taking it afar, but on a local test run, non of the 12v applicainces worked (when switched to battery) once I hooked the caravan up to the site mains, the fridge, 240v lights etc came to life, however, the pump wouldn't work. We got around the issue by plugging the 12s plug into the car when we wanted water through the taps. But you can imagine how annoying and how inconvenient that was. The garage I took the caravan for the service to, isn't near by, I was once suggested a mobile engineer by them, but since last used has 'retired' so I felt I should use them Any advice/help would be much appreciated! Thanks, JB
Ich
Flat battery, charger/12V power supply not switched on or faulty. Blown 12V fuse or fuses on the power supply or battery All these need found and checked Quote My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely
WispMan
Have you got a 12V leisure battery fitted? Is it fully charged? If you have a car/off/caravan switch then turn it to caravan when on site. jordonjb
Thanks for the quick replies. I've changed all the 12v fuses, as I thought it may have been an inline fuse at first, but no joy. And yes, we have a 110ah leisure battery that was on charge over night before we gave it a trial run, but the gauge hasn't moved. Looks like it's going to be something costly. I think I'm going to have to call out another mobile engineer to check it over. We've booked to go to Cornwall for the bank holiday though
WispMan
People talk of a fuse hidden away in the live line from the battery to the charger. Try and chase along this wire to try and find it. Sounds like 12V is not getting into your system. Quote Graham Unless otherwise stated all posts are my personal opinion
jordonjb
Thanks Milky Way! I'll have a look tomorrow. I found and changed a fuse on the live just outside the battery box. But it didn't change anything. I'm going to post another thread for a mobile engineer recommendation Thanks again!
TonyJover
Do you have a Car-Off-Van switch?
