Recommended Posts

Hi

Looking for a recommendation for an overnight stop just off the A20 when going down to the Dordogne from Caen

Thanks in advance

We usually stay at a Camping Municipal on the edge of the village/town of Gracay. It is approx 3 miles from J9 and is a very quiet and pleasant place to stay. We were there 4 weeks ago on our way down to Sarlat which is about 3. 5 hours away from Gracay. I never book and they always seem to have plenty of space.

Gracay is north of Chateauroux and if you don't get as far as you hope there is also a nice municipal site at Vatan which is in the same area but much nearer to the A20 - off at one junction to the north, and back on again to the south of the village.

There's a municipal in Chateauroux itself, which is fine - with some reinforced grass pitches which are useful if it's wet. Further south there's a municipal site in Argenton which again is near to the autoroute.

The French website www, campingqualite. com may help you.

Online blog and travels, although sometimes there is a lack of travel due to work!

It's an uncharted sea, it's an unopened door but you've got to reach out and you've got to explore.
