ok so as per the topic heading, we just bought a 2001 Hobby Exclusive caravan, needs a little tlc but nothing drastic, a few cupboard catches, the plastic at the hand brake needs fixed or replaced handbrake needs fixed, a few little things like that, anyway the book we got with it is ALL in German and does not have the actual model on it, so was wondering how or where I could get the exact model of it and maybe an English Handbook or even a copy of one of pdf or something like that? if anyone could help or point in the right direction? we are still very new to caravanning and is only our second one, we had a 95 coachman that we bought earlier this year to see if we liked it and did so just going to keep upgrading every year or two until we end up eventually with a new-ish one, as don't have the cash to buy a 20k one out right, so any help from anyone would be appreciated? it's a dry van with no sink.

thanks Grant

totally new to all this bought our first cheap van and here to learn!!

There used to be a load of very helpful and very experienced Hobby Caravan owners on what is now called the Caravan Owners' Club web-site

http://www. caravanownersclub. co. uk/

I used to own a 2003 Hobby Prestige 540 and was a member there for 7 years. It was an absolutely brilliant caravan.

The web site was originally set up by a voluntary group of Hobby Owners, specifically just for Hobby caravan stuff, but after a few years it expanded, changed ownership and now offers free basic membership to anyone who registers and with any caravan (the Registration is to reduce the risk of spammers abusing the site apparently).

Good luck.

Just contact Hobby Ambergate in Derby, they are the UK importers for Hobby. If you can, it would be worth your while having it serviced by them too, about £190 I think, competitive with a UK service.

We have our Hobby serviced there, there are a couple of sites nearby to overnight, drop van off am and pick up pm.

There were never any Hobby handbooks in English and those in German are very basic.

The model and year can be identified from the plate on the bodywork by the door.
