Blimey that would be a turn up. They'd spit blood if they knew ;):):)

I'd forgotten that there actually was a CT cover. I checked out the link on the CT 'shop' page and it leads to a 'bad page' apology on Specialised's site. I wonder I'd they're still available?

Ebay do a nice red one with "keep calm and caravan" on it for £21. 95 ( bit expensive? ) but I worry it may go walkies whilst in storage:(

Whilst it would be nice to have something humorous on a hitchcover, am I the only person who finds the plethora of 'keep calm' stuff rather distasteful and definitely overplayed?

Not at all distasteful but maybe overplayed

Why have a hitch cover? Is the hitch so delicate it has to be protected from the weather?

Roughing it . . but in comfort . .

I don't but suspect it's to keep it clean so you don't get delicate hands dirty (!) and to prevent fading of the plastic parts although they can be easily brought back to life with Autoglym bumper stuff (and others)

In my case it's to hide the disgrace of having the red bits of the hitchbleached almost clear by the sun. Absolutely no way Autoglym or anything else will rejuvenate it.

Plus it hides the hitchlock from any prying eyes. No great deterrent I know, but psychologically it helps me.

As to aesthetic appeal, quite frankly a hitch cover, to my eyes, is about the same degree of ugly as the hitch itself. A more misshapen, ill fitting, awkward thing I've never come across. The only one I've ever seen that looked good was the Alko one and that doesn't actually cover most of the apparatus and costs a small fortune.

Current free Sussex Caravans one has faded badly and split after just one year. It was/is a pain to fit as the ties had to be threaded through buckles which gradually became more and more impossible to do, plus the ties got covered in grease from the jockey wheel. Overall a poor experience, surely someone can design a cover that just works brilliantly and looks good too?

I don't have one Andy, it would look odd on an Orion :D

I still belong to the forum though.

Rummaged around in the garage and found a fairly sturdy cover that I believe came with one of our Eribas. It proclaims 'GT Caravans' which I believe is an outfit in East Herts somewhere. Shades of a previous owner by the name of Frantone methinks.

It's made of strong plastic material but is in white, or should I say off-white, which isn't a sensible colour for something left out in all weathers. There are also several disgusting looking brown stains which look like they won't shift, but I'll give it a go.

Best of all the two ties have plastic pushlocks which makes attachment very easy, once the lengths are adjusted correctly.

Love some of the tee shirt slogans and the less PC the funnier. I certainly think that the Keep Calm ones have outlived their time by around 65 years.

Perhaps I'd better stick with my dealer one for fear of upsetting too many

I suppose if you find a Union Jack one you'll get classified as a racial bigot or something. Scottish saltires appeared to be viewed differently somehow. Funny old world these days

Most companies will print whatever you like on a hitch cover,

I thought that "Warning Alarm Fitted" might be appropriate,

or just "Pointy End" to help the Lioness out when we are

going home :D

'This way up'

'Don't forget the handbrake'

'Have you locked the gas locker?'

'Remove before departure'

'Remember the mover'

'Turn the gas on/off'

'Check the noseweight'

'Check the hitch is locked on'

'That went without a hitch'

'Hitching a ride'

'Noisy hitch - try cleaning the stabiliser pads'

'Noisy hitch - duct tape is good!'

'Al-Ko ATC isn't for pilots'

Just the logo of the caravan brand you favour

I'd like a cover with all the useful hints on, including mine.

"Warning Alarm Fitted"

"Pointy End"

'This way up'

'Have you locked the gas locker?'

'Remove before departure'

'Remember the mover'

'That went without a hitch'

'Hitching a ride'

'Noisy hitch - try cleaning the stabiliser pads'

'Noisy hitch - duct tape is good!'

'Al-Ko ATC isn't for pilots'

A proper departure reminder list would be very helpful.

Any takers?
