Good looks.

Pulls like a train with a good flexible engine and 3 speed auto box. Did not make much difference with MPG doing short around town journeys and longer journeys towing.

I used to tow with a 1972 P5B saloon and agree they do pull well but I found the back end was a bit light . The only common problem they had was the camshaft and the rear crankshaft oil seal would leak.

It was always considered to be one of the best for towing at the time, I always wanted one but couldn't afford one. Maybe I will be able to buy George Gentley's if he's finished with it?......Peter

A long time ago as a Student I stood by the M6 junction at Haydock and this big Rover pulled up and gave me a lift all the way to Oxford. What I remember most was flying down the motorway at a steady 105 ( no speed limits in those days ) and the car did mot seem in the slightest bit stressed. It was a very memorable trip.
