gcltd
Hi, we've bought a 2003 Avondale, but it has no gas bottles or regulator, now we have been offered a propane (lightweight) empty bottle from a friend but we have a calor has bottle. Are we able to use either with the correct regulator or does this depend on the appliances? Any advise apreciated.
Paul_B
As its a 2003 caravan it should have a bottle mounted regulator, you will need a propane regulator and I would fit a new orange high pressure pipe while I was at it. Heres a picture of the pipe and regulator. When you say you have a calor bottle is it red or blue? calor do both Quote Paul B . .......Mondeo Estate & Elddis Avanté 505 (Tobago)
BrianI
Propane is supplied in red cylinders and butane in blue. Calor supply both. Butane is slightly cheaper than propane. However, butane does not gas below arounf 5degC so if you want to caravan in the cooler times of the year, then use propane. Brian

It is only Calor Gas that define theirs by having blue or red bottles. Other suppliers may use a yellow bottle or even a blue one for Propane. Speleccy
Always make sure that the regulator is ABOVE the cylinder valve. Otherwise oils etc can run down the pipe and cause real problems.
