OLD NICK

That Does It. I Have Had Enough.!

Recommended Posts

:( Its not distasteful its just cold. As for paying I have paid in for 60 yrs without ever having to use the NHS.

I reckon that I am entitled to use it now. ;);) ;)

Well said that man. Good luck in your travels

nme2no1 thats not a nice reaction from you but I guess you don't venture over the water Old Nick hasn't been well and besides that why should he have to pay over there when they come here and get it for nothing

Precisely after 60 years of contributions he is MORE than entitled, good luck mate!!

Phil.

Though a friend of ours who required 'back-up' cancer treatment In Spain after having their original treatment in France said the treatment they received was impeccable, so don't hesitate if you think you need some attention.

. Thanks for that Moulin. We have a local hospital in mind if needed. Its just that the specialists at the Southampton general

have been so good,& we have built a lovely relationship with them. I must confess the NHS treatment has been 5 star.

& I doubt could have been bettered anywhere.

Old nick, it wasn't intended to have a go or be cold, I was merely asking the question, perhaps not very well, why do you not get treatment somewhere else because if you're happier that would aid your recovery. I assumed you were a Brit through and through and would have paid considerable amounts of NI, I thought there were contractural agreements with the likes of France and Spain etc that would allow you to get NHS funded treatments there.

Call off the hounds please, it didn't come out as it was meant.

I've been told that the hospital at Huercal Overa is very good, not that you'll need it. .

You are quite right Moulin. I went there about 4 yrs ago when I dropped a boulder on my foot.

It looked brand new & was spotlessly clean. Quite happy to go there if needed. :):)

The power of san miguel and sunshine!

My mother phoned to tell me she was having a beer and it was to hot over there whilst I was enjoying the rainy bank holiday - she lives in La Rabita south of Almeria after hanging up the Hymer, seems to do her the world of good as well, although it has increased her propensity to gloat!

Good for you Old Nick, just what you needed after all that bother

walking along a secluded beach this evening with the dog,he loves to splash in the sea to cool off.

When coming towards me was (what I think was a woman). It was just a mountain of flabby flesh on a 5ft 9inch frame.

stark naked & pure white. At first I thought it was a mound of lard on the move.

Now I know that this beach is used by willydanglers & don,t have the slightest problem with that but surely these people

should look at themselves in the mirror before coming out. To say this person was hideous would be paying her a compliment.

Just vast areas of fat for all to see.

I know the Spanish guy who runs the café on the beach,he has been there for many years & in that time has seen everything

but when I sat down & ordered a coffee even he commented on the sight I had just witnessed.

From behind she looked even worse. How is it that when advertising the nuddy beaches you only see attractive people

gambolling about. As around here they all seem to be minimum age 70 & extremely well fed.

So that's that beach out until October when they all return to northern Europe

So you all think we are enjoying life here in southern spain. You have no idea what we have to put up with. ;):P:P

Never mind! October is only a month away. I'm sure there are plenty of alternative dog walks in the meantime.

Just read your original post again and I am feeling a bit down at the thought of spending the coming winter in the cold. Mrs S is getting a new hip on 28 October ( she went into Hospital for investigation into Sciatic problem but found there was a special offer on hips so we decided to have one). Upshot is that we now have a revised target arrival in Spain of 15 December, that is assuming the medics agree that she can travel, however the French specialists are very positive in their outlook so we are hopeful that they will agree. Keep it warm for us!

For those of you still undecided about heading off to the sunshine for the winter months here,s a little heads up on the weather

SUNNY 38c on the beach at lunchtime yesterday. We were enjoying a meal on the terrace of a local restaurant at 9-00pm

in 29C with a lovely warm breeze to keep the humidity down.

I have even foregone my vest !!! :D;):D

You are whetting my appetite Old Nick. We have been travelling down to the Costa Blanca for a few years now, initially for 3 months and latterly for 6 months. Its not only having 2 summers that appeals but also the different culture (and restaurants & wine :D ).

Best wishes and keep on enjoying but beware of the blubber it can be bad for the cholesterol and eyes. Roll on October. :D

We'll believe you old nick, seems like you're doing you're bit for international trade relations and doing your best to keep the restaurants busy, my mother is reporting much the same activity from la rabita - sun and wine and retirement.
