What Tow Cover?

Recommended Posts

We are going to invest in a tow cover as I'm sick of arriving on site to find the front of the 'van absolutely filthy.

Can anyone recommend a good one that doesn't cost the earth?

Thanks :)

Hi Lizzie, We use a pro-tec cover & find it excellent, got it thrown in as part of the part ex deal, but I believe they cost around £100 or so. Other one that seems very popular is the specialised covers version, which I think are a bit more expensive. Towing covers tend to be specific to your caravan so worth looking at both companies websites.

Check out Flee bay. always a few on there. We use one and its so easy to unclip and drop the front down for an over night stop, then just lift it back up and clip in place again the following day. ( touring France next week)

We have found it keeps the bugs off the windows so there is no cleaning the front of the van when you get on site.

Ours is a pro-tec. We have used it for over 2 years and its still serviceable. I wash mine hung from the washing line, or has been suggested on here before, wash it while it is still on the van ( good Idea). Don't use a jet wash on them, I did and it damaged it.

There are some towing covers on e-bay starting at £20. Better than buying new, its only going to get dirty anyway on your first trip out.

You also need to check whether or not you have one awning rail or two one on each side as it will also help determine what you buy

Thanks Lizzie14. As far as I can see from photographs online your caravan has 2 full awning rails. We're currently researching and ammending our Tow Pro Lite (universal cover) to fit caravans with the wider and thinner a-frames, which stopped the cover fitting. What I would ask is if you could email Alex Feather our Business Development Executive (alex@specialisedcovers. com) with your details, he is aware that you may contact him. He will be in touch with the details of the Tow Pro Lite and let you know when the 'new shape' towing cover is available.

Thank you B)

I think the latest Protec offer is 50% off a towing cover if you order a full caravan cover. To give the OP some idea of the Protec cover for our Bailey was £160ish I think.
