First port of call . . contact van manufacturer

but can be calculated (assuming you have the correct 'light commercial type tyres)

Max pressure (from tyre marking) divided by max load (from tyre marking) multiplied by half the MTPLM (GVW) (or a quarter in a twin axle)

There are other threads on here about it

Were the tyres fitted standard car tyres or the higher spec tyres for caravans?

The tyres are 175/13c 8 ply rated and from what I can see have a max pressure of 65psi and max load single of 730kg, dual 690kg whatever all that means! :)

The caravan is 1200kg laden IIRC. Thanks.

That puts the load on each tyre at 600kg (Slightly less actually because the car is carrying up to 100kg or so on the drawbar.

65/730*600 = 53. 4247

That puts pressure at 53 or 54 psi

This formula works on all the 'vans I have checked it against

Thanks :)

The previous owner said 'about 50' so not far off his guess!

Thanks again, Dave.
