Hi all. Thinking of buying a cadac. Can I connect it straight to the gas outlet on the side of my van or do I still need a regulator? I use propane. Thanks.

Nope, you don't need a regulator, the BBQ point is regulated by the van's on board reg. I run a Cadac on propane from the BBQ point.

Straight to the van, assuming you have a regulator conneted to your gas bottles.

Where's the Stornoway Black Pudding?

Seriously though first time I used my cadac I was ready for putting it on eBay, but once I got the hang of t I now think its fab. .

Not a replacement though for the old charcoal BBQ so I take both!

I'm sure my paella pan has 2 handles - maybe they got dirty so he photoshopped them out.

Glad you've asked the question. We have been using a cadac for some time now but with a free standing gas bottle. But in the next couple of weeks we are changing to a newer van which has a BBQ connection and were wondering the same thing. Will need to wonder no more.

Thanks for that. Seems as though you can only buy those with the cadac from new. Not found anywhere online to buy them on their own

I use a 4M hose on mine

Is that a paella pan in the pic. Seems as though you can leave the fat pan at home when using the paella pan. Is that right?

Well, I was hoping to pick up a cadac deal from the NEC show last weekend. I did not think the deals offered were that Todd so I am looking for a Carri Chef 2 Delux, with all the accessories. Anybody know of any good deals out there?

  • 2 weeks later...

There seem to be a range of Cadacs. I've seen them for £67. 99, and I've seen them for £179. 99. I'm guessing they're not the same model!

So. .. which one should I buy, and with which accessories? I'll be using it from the van's external gas outlet.

Cheers,

Tony

Can you remove everything else from the bag, as must admit all the paraphernalia takes up quite a bit of SWMBO shoe space
