Sealing Truma Chimney

Hello all,

I've just replaced my crumbling extractor fan chimney and truma outlet chimney as they had perished and water had been dripping down the extractor fan outlet into the sink.

Anyway all replaced and all is water tight again.

My dealer said not to use sealant as it would affect the rubber seal that sticks to the roof.

Some info on Internet states use butyl mastic. Obviously from underneath as from above the rubber seal and chimney is in situ preventing from sealing anything from the top.

Should I put a bit from the bottom around the vent pipe. .

Thanks in anticipation. DDD
