Which Chassis For Bailey Olympus Ii 620-6

I'm trying to find out which Chassis my caravan is built on, and subsequently what the possible MTPLM maximum might be for the chassis, rather than the caravan plate.

Once I know that I can weight the van, and based on the results I will need to either buy a new plate, or look to take some stuff out of the van.

Can anyone help?

Steve

Bailey use Al-Ko chassis.

I believe there is a weight plate on the axle so you will have to crawl under and have a look.

I was trying to avoid that.

My ample girth makes that task somewhat difficult, and it's not easy to persuade the kids to visit the storage site if they know they will be grubbing around in the dirt.

Cheers anyway.

You need also to check the load rating on the tyres, that might not be specified up tp the axles rating.

Getting that does not require getting under the van.

Definitely an Alko chassis. With this weather, just wait until it floats and swim underneath to check! :D

It will also depend on the age of the caravan if it is type approved you can not legally change the weight.

Have you thought about this?

https://bailey-parts. co. uk/Product. aspx?PartNumber=1190145

This allows you to be plated to 1700kg, which will give you another 50kg

I did this on my Olympus 540-5, and the only thing I had to do was remove the old sticker, put the now one on and pump the tyres up to the new pressures. You also get a caravan council certificate confirming your vin number for the cab at the new weight limit, so legally you are covered etc

I couldn't manage to find that.

Well done.

On the other hand £60 for a sicker is a bit steep.

Agree that it is steep, especially as its £60 for a sticker too! Also don't forget the £5 delivery charge too. Delivery is pretty quick though

£60 for a sticker but also the paper work authorising the extra weight allowance .
