Coast Insurance

Hi,

I've been getting quotes for our caravan insurance. It's 5 years old and we want new for old, which has meant we have had to go for the most expensive plans offered e. g. the Super with the CC. We have been insured with Caravan Guard for 3 years, but think we would do better by going to a different insurance company, who will offer a cheaper premium to get our business.

The best quote so far is through Coast Insurance. Has anyone had any experience of them please?

Yes. Coast Insurance used to be known as Park Home Insurance Services and our previous caravan was covered by them as they were cheapest for the Lunar caravan we owned at that time. We had one claim during the five years we were with them. My other half was busy chatting to our neighbour and had been moving the caravan (using motor-mover) down the drive. Took off motor mover but forgot to put handbrake on and the van rolled down the drive, into the edge of the garage. Replacement front panel, both front awning rails, gutter rail, window rubber and insert = £3222.

Park Homes were brilliant, approved the work and we had no problems. Nor was their a jump in the following year's renewal quote.

Each and every time we change caravans, however, we find that we have to change insurers as we always find that the insurer we were with is no longer the one with the best quotation. Sadly, therefore, we had to leave Park Homes as Caravan Guard gave the lowest quote for our Bailey.

We are also with Coast, not had to make a claim so unable to comment on that score. We have been with them since the start and have always found the quote to be competitive. When they were park homes it was more of a family run business.
