Gaz40
Looking at the new Qashqai Brochure in the showroom this morning, the new 4x4 Qashqai specs seem to be an improvement on the outgoing one. The 4x4 1. 6d 130bhp manual top kerb weight is 1600kg, Nose weight 100kg and max braked trailer weight 1800kg. These figures seem to be an improvement over the old one and may open it up to more folks, to be an half decent towcar. I was interested in the new X-trail coming out in the summer, but it may be worth thinking about a lighter caravan in the future with a towcar to match. Quite like the look of Ventures Adria Sportline with the fixed bed, the only downside being the lack of n/s/f window but we'd probably get used to it, especially with an awning there. Perhaps the future is to downsize

Gaz40
Does it have a full spare wheel? The caravan or car No spare wheel yet again, its getting to be unfashionable to build a car with a spare these days, Apparently its optional but not sure if its a spacer or full wheel. MalH
Rediculous trend. I'll bet there's no room to stow one. Rules it out as a towcar AFAIAC Quote Nissan X-Trail Tekna + Coachman Festival
