sulyka
Does anyone know anything about Torre La Sal2 near Oropesa del Mar on the Costa Azahar. It looks great value for money if staying a while during the winter and facilities look wonderful.
sulyka
Well we cannot believe the Brits have not found this place. We bit the bullet after 2 research visits and we are now on site! As far as winter is concerned it is quiet and peaceful even though there are plenty of vans on site. The staff cannot be faulted and nothing is too much trouble. If there is a downside there is a predominance of German people but for us it is not a problem. They are almost invariably pleasant and polite. Pitches vary in size from small to very large and for snowbirds all the same price! Pitches are divided by hedges and on half the site each pitch has it's own water supply. Wifi is free and the facilities are spotless, warm and always sweet smelling! Activities are all included, heated indoor pool and spa, sauna, tennis, petanque, aquarobics, and gym. Fabulous dog washing facilities including dryers which are needed if the dogs are taken straight onto the beach from the campsite! There are also laundry facilities, hairdresser and carwash. Good Spar shop by camp entrance, and a new Mercadona supermarket a couple of kms away. Benicassim 10Kms away. Good deals for pensioners over 1 month and over 3 months. You will gather we quite like it!!

not so big john
http://www. torrelasal2. com/en/quienes-somos/ Glad you like it. We saw it from the outside in December 2012 when we were staying at Alcossebre (Ribamar). It looked good from the outside, but have to say we were a bit put off by the huge empty looking apartment blocks between it and Oropesa. That Mercadona is a good one though. , (Aren't they all!) We might try it one winter. Certainly not in the summer, looking at their website, a bit too much going on! sulyka
Hello Myone, 2014 ACSI No 2352. Yes, name is correct. Hello NSBJ, Yes the apartment blocks were a negative for us to start with but once on site we do not see them, apart from driving in and out. There are lots of walks well away from the apartments, and from the natural beach which is directly accessed from the campsite the apartments are not visible. All in all the positives far outweigh the negatives in our opinion. New pensioner clients receive the first night free! When we were looking for a new site on the coast we visited about a dozen from Cabo de Gata up to Benicarlo and this was by far the best value for money. When we come down to Spain for the winter we are very conscious of the overall cost. ....we are not on holiday! We take into account ALL the add ons such as electricity, dogs, and payment for activities. Here everything is included, an allowance 250 Kw per month of electricity and excess charged at 25 cents per Kw. Compared to the most expensive we found where there was no allowance and the charge of 60 cents per Kw. We find the allowance is sufficient. Hope this helps! sulyka
We are using a one meter dish. A slight blocking on BBC 2 occasionally, but easily watchable!
