skegmacca
Most expensive Bessacarr caravan at Couplands main dealer is £28k brand new! That's one expensive solar panel
Steamdrivenandy
I could believe it if it was a Press report and the reporter knew nothing about caravans or wanted to boost the story to make it more 'shock/horror', but that's an official NYP site and presumably the officer/s in question have reported those figures, which are fantasyland. Steamdrivenandy
Just checked Streetview and either that van or its predecessor is shown parked at the side of the owners house and as far as I can see it's on the public highway, not on private land. Whilst that doesn't make the attempted theft any more despicable it doesn't show much care as it has no hitchlock/hitchcover or wheel lock on it. I s'pose it might be just about to go off on a trip, but there's no sign of a nearby tug. Also the pic was taken by Google in 2009 and if the van is the one that was nearly pinched it's worth nearer £15K than £40K. gravon42
Hi SDA, just done the same! It's a 2009 model by my reckonjng, worth about 14 (sounds like 40???) thousand pounds. It's a traveller size caravan so no guessing where that will land up! Can you see the "I am unlocked - please take me" sign in the window? Ern
It would be nice to know what the insurance cover was, and whether the insurance paid out. Not our business of coarse, but it brings the Police report into ridicule - nothing new there then. Quote Ern
