Awning Insurance

Good afternoon everyone.

We have allways insured our awning additionally to our caravan with the caravan insurance and paid a bit more for it.

Our New caravan's cost along with motor mover, contents and awning takes it over the £25000 that is the maximum amount they insure so looking for alternatives.

Someone suggested that they don't insure their awning with the caravan but use their house insurance "items away from the home" cover.

Our awning is insured for £1000 and our house insurance does cover this amount, but does anyone else do this?

would welcome any comments on what others do?

Happy New Year to you all!

Having had mega-claim (total loss) on van and contents in last couple of years I think that most Insurers would look as a awning as something that went with the caravan. ..rather than things like cameras, iPhones, clothing or even tv's. ...

Whilst my two insurers were not 'picky' there were certain items which they identified as 'not being under their cover'...
