I know some of you fellow Forum members already tow with a CX5 so hoped you could recommend a detachable towbar and/or a fitting company.

Any other info on towing with a CX5 would also be appreciated. It`s quite a bit lighter than my current towcar, hoping you will say it tows well.

we have a westfalia on our Mazda 3 Bob. its vertical detach so completely hidden when removed. if they do one for the cx5 then i would put it towards the top of possibles. iirc they were the first to design a detachable.

A seemingly problem free 2010 model Adria Altea 542dk that has more than its fair share of use.

The CX-5 tows better than my previous T31 Xtrail, in sport trim.

I've fitted mine with a witter detachable, cost £450 but without the vehicle specific harness.
I probably paid a little too much.

I notice some good discounts are being offered at the moment on the CX-5.

I have a Westfalia detachable on mine. It should have cost over £600, but for various reasons I got it closer to £450. This price included vehicle specific writing. Having said that there is no canbus connection as in my Mondeo. I am very happy with the Westfalia system.

Thule also do one for a similar amount.

Mine is not detachable. . I call it a 'wife bumper'..

Detachable Witter on mine, dealer fitted for around £400.

Towing wise I'm really impressed with the car. We've recently bought a Bailey Unicorn Valencia. Only managed one trip so far, but having made the return journey in worryingly high winds I had shouldn't have been concerned. It was solid as a rock with barely a twitch.

I forgot to mention with the witter the bumper does not have to be removed to fit the bar, unlike the other one I looked at.

Have to say I didn`t know a facelift was coming !

Dealer mentioned that they were changing the Sat Nav away from Tom Tom but that was all he mentioned.

Mine is in Holland already so I doubt that it will be a facelifted one.
