alimac
Hi heading for Alsace and Luxembourg in May, can anyone suggest a quiet, small, rural, dog friendly site in Luxembourg, Thanks Ali
Highlandman
Try Auf Kengert at Larochette. We were there in may of this year and although it's more of a medium sized site I think it doesn't get too busy until the main holiday period of July / Aug. When we visited there were never more than around 20 units using the site. Auf Kengert is a family run site and the owners are all fluent English speakers who we found to be friendly and helpful. frazerg
We also can recommend Auf Kengert having stayed there 2 years ago with our dog. It is set in woods that you walk into straight from the campsite and the shop sells a book of local walks all from the campsite. The shop is really good and not too expensive and in the same block is a bar and restaurant with a terrace outside overlooking the swimming pool. Dogs are not allowed inside but are on the terrace where we ate twice and enjoyed our meals that are more like home cooking than haute cuisine. When we arrived we were a little disappointed with the look of the site as it looked scruffy with uncut grass and plants that were left unkempt but when you get used to it, you see the philosophy as just laid back and enjoyable, not regimented like CC sites.
