Having a chat with a client today with regards to a 8 acre field in a PRIME location outside Liverpool in a Village having been knocked back on his planning for ECO CABINS in and around a wooded area has now decided to look into a touring site .

With bookings up and caravan sales this year thanks too a lovely summer think if you have the guts now is the right time .

We need a non-aligned (ie. neither of the two clubs) site close to Liverpool and within easy strike of public transport, buses or Merseyrail.

We used to go to Church Farm Thurstaston, and try and act like a tourist as you see things you don't see as a resident.

Good luck to who ever gets planning permission,

Hi ll. It depends upon which side of the tubes or the Widnes/Runcorn bridge that we are talking about.

The bridge is nothing short of a joke at times and the only tube worth going through is the Kingsway Tunnel (Double Bore) or more locally known as The Wallasey Tunnel.

It would be nice to know where the desired/intended location is because of potential local access issues.

Narrow rural lanes, late leavers and early arrivals don't make for a stress free break away.

Life in general can be a journey of chance with some winners and sadly some losers. Your outfit can never be left to chance. A short-while carrying out essential checks can ensure a long-time of happy & safe caravanning for all concerned.
Ignorance can often be bliss but is certainly not an excuse and when continually disregarded they can be totally disastrous for oneself and the innocent parties.

The OP says wooded area, Formby? There's plenty of land between Widnes and Speke/Hale or Halewood, or go north to Maghull/Lydiate.

Ideal would be on Aintree Racecourse.

Hi ll. Formby can be an absolute nightmare of a destination and will be until the by-pass is completed from switch island out and bypasses Sefton.

Maghull and Lydiate have otherwise good access from the South and East'ish being served by both the M62/M57 & N/S M6/M58.

The approach from the north is via the A59 and can be a very bad experience from Preston through Penwortham and Rufford then down through Burcough and skirting Ormskirk.

Skelmersdale,UpHolland,Billinge,Bickerstaffe are also easy'ish reach locations and again have more than OK motorway/A580 accessibility.

Ok to drive in, but buses thin on ground, station at either Roby or Huyton. I wish them luck,

Hi Ste. The area that you refer to has a number of woodland areas but are near to the motorway intersection and could get a little noisy with 'carried sound',especially at night.

There is however an interesting location just South of the M62 and very close to the A5080 and but a Cock's!!!! Stride up Foxes Bank Lane. It is or has been a site with alternative interests as the main feature and is in a very very private location!!!!!!!!!!

Having been unsuccessful with a planning application for Eco cabins it would seem unlikely to receive permission for anything other than a CL/CS. Either of the main clubs would give advice on setting up 5 pitch CL/CS. Setting up a CL would probably have to include EHU provision as a minimum.

Why would a CL have to include EHU as a minimum?

Customer demand, as the majority of new and lots of existing caravans are equipped with some mains electrical equipment.

Whilst there is a demand for sites with minimalist facilities I would suggest that it would not commercially viable on the plot under discussion.

I thought your post was about planning permission and you were saying EHU would be a requirement to achieve that.

Planning permission is not required for a CL/CS.

Very true but it does not seem to bother folk at all, example . ...Fairoaks Ellesmere port and my local haunt @ Llandulas which is sat next too A55 which are fully booked most of the time.

Site in Question is @ least 2 miles from said 57/62 junction.
