Try www. mytyres. co. uk. Can either fit yourself or select a fitting station and they'll send the tyres there. Check the load index you need but you'll be looking at 50 to 70 pounds.

How much do tyre companies charge for fitting tyres that were purchased elsewhere?

Just paid £7. 50 for a puncture on the Santa Fe then £15 each to have tyres filled to the caravan. He apologised but said twas the instructions he had to work to! I suppose you can understand since the tyre sale profit is removed!

Hi,

Looking for some new tyres. Can anyone advise the best place to get some, the size is 195/70R15 C

I think they were the old size on my Bailey - just recently change the tyre size after confirming OK with Bailey

Used a mobile fitter thru BlackCircles and did the change whilst on a C&CC site. Very happy with the price and service !

I have been quoted £60 per tyre this morning fitted balanced etc. But an extra £10 each wheel because they have tyron bands. They say it takes much longer to fit. The tyres are Maxmiler 175 R14C 8 ply.

The tyres look perfect, no cracks inside or out etc, but they are now 5 years old and the CC recommends 5 years max especially as they run at 62psi.

Frankly I would not change them this year, but I have a suspicion that I have a wheel balance problem as the front of the fire keeps jumping off and the draws have to be removed for traveling as they would jump out as well. Both are directly over the nearside wheel.

My biggest problem is the one of getting the tyres to my local tyre place (one at a time - jacking up - putting on a spare times two 2)

I have looked at mobile fitters on line, but yet to find one that lists caravan tyre.

edit, just found a mobile tyre fitter for Warwickshire, but they don't do Tyron banded tyres!

Tyron bands do take longer, especially if the fitter is inexperienced. .... I do know that Kwik Fit mobile deal with them so it would be worth trying them.

Chris, there's no such thing as a "caravan tyre". You just need to ensure that the size and load index are correct. For example, the Bridgestone tyres fitted to our Bailey are listed as a van tyre.

I know that generally caravan tyres are now commercial van tyres to get the correct load index on a relatively narrow section tyre. When I enquired this morning, there did not seem to be too many tyres of my section (175) available, so I will probably stick with new Maxmilers because although they are budget tyres, they are fitted by Elddis who quote the specific tyre pressure for my caravan.

Anyone had problems getting a puncture fixed abroad with Tyrons fitted?

Chris, you could always go up a notch to 185R14C 102, or, 185/75R14C 102 if you need to keep the diameter the same as the 175's

Both these with the higher load index will also give you the chance to reduce the pressure to something more reasonable and easily conform with the 90% loading as recommended. As it is the 175 is recommended for caravan use up to 1400kg @ 57psi

Chris did you get the tyres sorted?

We do stock a number of van tyres and the online price quotes the fitting too, so you don't need to worry about any hidden extras.

You can find some extra information about the tyres from ATS here - there's a widget at the bottom that you put your tyre information in and it'll show you the best tyres for you and the nearest centre in which they can be fitted.

Hope this helps!

Just had 2 new tyres fitted by E-Tyres and the best bit is they come to you give them a ring rather than fill out the online box as they have other tyres than those online- They turn up with a van with all the gear inside run off a compressor very good. If you are not going to be there when they turn up make sure you have the steadys wound up.
