Well, they've started building the crawler lane from the Avonmouth Bridge to Clevedon - news here.

What lovely times ahead in "the most complex contraflow" for the next six months ?

At least they are blaming it exclusively on caravans any more <_<

Don't you believe a word of it - of course we'll still get the blame!

Thanks for the info though.

 Wonderful. I'm towing through it Southbound on Saturday and back again Tuesday. (Bridgwater & Burnham Carnivals)

Quote from News "A Highways Agency spokesman said the new lane were being introduced because heavy lorries and caravans currently crawl up the hills and cause long motorway tailbacks."

Whenever I pass through on a clear run, most caravans are doing a (legally) respectable speed in the middle lane, overtaking Lorries and even cars and vans. When there is heavy congestion and all three lanes are crawling at 10 - 15 mph you then see lots of caravans in the inside lane as there is no point being anywhere else. Because we are highly visible it is (wrongly) assumed that we are the cause.
