Carver Fanmaster Mk2

Recommended Posts

We have a Lunar Premiere 97 fitted with a Carver Fanmaster mk2 heater. We have had to replace the PCB assembly (£50 each) fitted behind the heater twice within 6 months.

The PCB unit controls the fan speed and thermostat.

Has anyone got any idea why the PCB keeps failing . Let me know if you need more info.

No surprise to me although I doubt it is a mk2!, as far as I am aware they came out in 98?. The mk2 has a slide switch on the fire top while the mk1 has a wall mounted control switch, which one is yours?

If I am right then the problem is the fan motor overloading the board which I insist you have new as well when having one of my exchange boards. ..at least if you want a warranty!!.

The main problem with the mk2 is the slide switch, only a few suffer control board faults but between board and fan motor there is another component which can also be problematical if it overheats?

I don't post prices as a rule. .mind you mine is considerably less than £50!, I also am not a part swapper preferring to find the fault first and then fit only what is required.

If you ring me we can discuss the problem further and then the options to put it right, my phone numbers are on the Arc Systems link below
