Ikea Flat Pack Hits Caravan!

Recommended Posts

Travelling back from Dover ferry port last Saturday when we hit some debris on the M25.

The upshot is that the debris (that turned out to be an Ikea flat pack), hit the motor mover against the tyres. This in turn tore the tread off one tyre and also damaged the other tyre but to a lesser extent.

Needless to say, both of the mover rollers were stripped.

The van was recovered by the Caravan Club Red Pennant service (after waiting for five hours) and we drove the car home.

Having inspected the damage to the tyres, we were really lucky to get off as lightly as we did.

Its possible that the traffic police have details of the vehicle involved (which is minus his/her flatpack!) and should have insurance details - worth a try

If I remember corectly you recently replaced the rollers.   Hopefully the damage is easily repairable.

Hi Ian

Good memory! Yep, we had the rollers changed less than one month ago. I've taken the van in today for a service, new motor mover rollers and two new tyres.
