Kerb Weights

Can someone please tell me what the Kerb weight of a vehicle is defined as?

Mine has a kerb weight of 1370kg, but I've just taken it to a weighbridge and it said 1500kg! The only things in it were 2 kids booster seats and half a tank of diesel.

Not that I'm complaining; based on this figure I'm now within the 85% guideline.

Thanks.

Steve.

Kerb weight. Unladen weight, ie empty vehicle plus full fuel plus 75 kg driver.

Many car makers now quote kerb weight according to EU directive 95/48. That is the car fueled to 90% of its tank capacity, a driver weighing 68Kgs and carrying 7Kg of luggage.

kerbweight of the car is defined different in europe as to the uk

the uk is car with no passengers, all oils fluids etc,90% of fuel tank full for that particular model. you can add manufacturers accessories(ie air con, bull bars etc etc )for that particular model which will in effect uprate the kbw to a max the manufacturer allows. jacks etc are not inc so must be discarded when weighing the car
