Recommended Posts

Hi all.

i have been away for 4 days and i had the heater plugged into the above. on packing up this morning the cover for the socket was hard to move down and it broke at the two hinges in the middle to be exact. two questions. is it only dealer part and how easy difficult is it to get the pin out from whats left of the cover, and finally any tips or tricks for this not to happen again.

thanks as always for your help.

I have a tip. The plastic hinged flap on water inlet tended to get stiff and broke after a couple of years. I apply an annual dose of silicone lubricant to it every year and it stays easy to move. I bought a small bottle 10 years ago from Lakeland Plastics. I also use it on the rubber car door seals and stops them freezing shut in winter.

Look familiar? If it is, then to remove the old pins, use a pop rivet and a hammer.
