Black Horse Farm CC site - well used by overnighters and a short ride to/from the port.

Black horse farm have a special system for just such as you. Even if you get back in the middle of the night they have details of your allocated pitch e. t. c. in a display case by reception all waiting for you. Printed instructions on how to get to the port and back to the site. Very well organised. You will be given a pitch reserved for transit users we can't fault them.

Before you book Black Horse Farm, try the following which is what we use if going from Dover as it is only 10 to 15 minutes from the ferry port. It is a CL with all hard standing and EHU you can come and go at whatever time you wish providing you let them know beforehand. Contact details are: Mrs P L Broadley, Lenacre Court Farm, Whitfield, Dover. CT16 3HL Tel: 01304 821064. it is listed on page 393 in the 2011/2012 Sites Directory Handbook. It is easily approached from the M25 via the M2 / A2.

I myself only use Black Horse Farm if I am going via the tunnel as it is very handy for that, whereas Lenacre Court Farm is far, far handier for the ferry port

Black Horse farm-excellent. Easy drive to port.

On our return from France we stayed there again, having arrived late in the evening. We asked if we could buy some milk as we had run out. Wardens gave us a carton and would not accept any payment. Really kind.

We have used both Blackhorse Farm CC and the CL at Whitfield. One advantage about Whitfield is that you can leave the car hitched up so it makes it a bit easier when leaving early or arriving late.

The other thing to mention is that the wardens told us not to use the pub over the road but the one next door to Lidl about a mile away.

We used the one by Lidl back in August and got a decent meal, then walked over to Lidl for some last minute shopping! It's located just off a roundabout en route to Black Horse Farm.
