Knaresborough Cc Site

Recommended Posts

Easy to get to in my opinion - and that was with a 30 foot motorhome towing a car.

If you are coming from the North East, leave at the Boroughbridge turn and then the A6055 towards Knaresorough.

Dog friend eateries in "The Golden Triangle" - I don't think there are any. Do you mean to be able to take your dog inside?

Online blog and travels, although sometimes there is a lack of travel due to work!

It's an uncharted sea, it's an unopened door but you've got to reach out and you've got to explore.

Used to stay on this site before CC bought it and never found much difficulty getting there, pretty well signed in area.

We use the ( brand new junction) to Ripon off A1 as it is handy but have been down the Boro'bridge route only today.

There is the Guy Fawkes pub ( he came from around there and was an ancestor of mine) in village not far from site and there is a brilliant Fish Shop ( Drakes) in Knaresborough itself and a variety of good small eating establishments but I don't know of any dog friendly ones these days. ..

Good selection of charity shops in Knaresborough too. ....but not as many as in Harrogate down the road!

Hi

Just live a few miles away from the site, you should have no problem. When you turn right at Bond End in Knaresborough, it is a bit narrow going up the hill, but HGV's manage, just take it easy. You could come off the A1 towards Ripon and take A61 to Ripley and come in that way on the B6165.

A good pub with a large beer garden and always lots of dogs is the Gardners Arms, Bilton Lane, Harrogate. Samual Smiths beer at £1. 70 a pint! you need to make sure someone else drives!!!!! Yes, Guy Fawkes pub and Drakes. Most pubs accept dogs in the beer gardens, but not inside if eating.

You could also try the Turkish Baths, Better still treat the wife, to a bit of relaxation and pampering.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got back from a couple of nights at this site. Very nice site and friendly/helpful wardens. Access no problem with a twin axle as previously said go steady if driving through Knaresborough otherwise no problems. Site's restaurant on limited hours we didnt use it but could imagine it being very useful. We popped into Knaresborough and found it very nice to wander around with a number of nice tea shops. Nice spacious clean pitches.

agree with previous comments but just to add a few more. ...turn right at the main road and travel to Ripley for two reasons. ...1. ...world famous ice creams sold in village. ...2. ...loads of free parking which is really handy for the frequent bus service to Harrogate/Leeds or the other way to ripon. the bus stops in both town centres of Harrogate and Leeds and well worth the journey. The site office is closed between 12 and 1pm however you just pitch up and book in after 1pm
