There's a great camping and caravan site here.

Dartmouth is really close, so is Slapton Sands. The highlight though is Blackpool sands which is a 5 min walk away and the camp site has all the usual facilities overlooking the ocean.

There's a great restaurant on site which serves until 9pm weekends, out back are some benches and a take away window where the will sell you traditional fish and chips which are fab.

The staff are really friendly and helpful and they seem to welcome all. The campsite is next to the tiny village of Stoke Flemming with a good pub serving excellent food and beer. Just a couple of minutes drive is another great maritime pub with sea views again. They serve ocean usuals here and a good ale.

You can grab a grilled breakfast down at Blackpool sands right on the beach front. It has a southern France feel with pines etc. .. providing the weather is right of course lol!

If you don't like owls and an ancient church clock which chimes every hour through the night best not visit, otherwise it's great. If you do take a caravan this way though be especially careful, very very narrow roads and the double decker buses belt along quite frequently to my horror. Nearly got caught out once.

p. s. hope I got the title in the right order?

Used to holiday there in the 70s - fond memories of aunt, uncle & cousins with their VW campervan & tent whilst we hired a static

Blackpool Sands - is hard to beat and Dartmouth is still nice

Shame that the owners got rid of the touring - but there a couple of C&CC sites nearby Slapton/ Deer Park
