Noise From Trumatic Heater

JFA

Recommended Posts

Hi, My Trumatic heater has just started to make a vibrating sound when, I think, the thermostat kicks in on 2000 w setting. Any ideas as to it's cause? It only lasts a few seconds but is annoying.

The caravan ( Swift Challenger 570) is only just over a year old.

Thanks in advance.

Alan.

Hi Alan,

Is this the blower starting. Truma recommend the fan should be removed annually for dust removal, and a drop of oil on the bearings would not go amiss either,

Regards

Pete

is this something you can do easily yourself or is it a service bay job ?

mine makes a couple of clicking noises when it kicks in but not enough to annoy me

I can't answer that - I don't know how capable you are, but if you can wire a 13 amp plug and change your car oil - well then - YES.

Have a look behind the fire and you will see the cowling you have to remove, by removing three screws, detaching the electrics from the fire front panel and once you have the fan assembly out - take it outside because the dust will get everywhere.

You will be surprised.

I wonder if the dealers do this on a servicing???

YEAH - Pigsfly

It may well be worth checking the tightness of the several screws holding the electric heating panel to the rear case of the fire, these are under and around the fan housing so easily checked while your cleaning the fan and that's out of the way
