Bailey Orion 430-4 - Any Good?

We have been looking at a few vans and are looking for a fixed bed/end bathroom and has a MTPLM of 1300 or less. The first one that seems to fit the bill is the Bailey Orion 430-4.

We just wanted to know if anyone has had one of these and how they got on with it. The lack of workspace for cooking seems to be a problem. Looks like there is next to none.

Thanks,

Saw one of these on site last week. they look small for a 4 birth fixed bed . But everything was there even. A decent washroom . I like them look quite retro

Been reading another thread about this van and it mentioned there was no front locker. Where do the gas bottles go?

We have a 440-4 and leave the side dinette made up as a fixed bed.

As you say, lack of workspace for cooking is an issue though we tend to eat out and only cook 'simple' meals occasionally so it's manageable for us.

There's a dedicated gas locker just to the right of the van door (over the axle).

We have just been away on our first trip in our new Orion 430-4, as you have mentioned the tops available for cooking/meal prep is a bit limited, but we cooked a main meal every night for 9 days without any problems.

after having to make and put away beeding etc in our old elddis avante the fixed bed on our orion is an absolute pleasure, its a roomy bed and very comfortable.

the end toilet/shower is really roomy with a full sized shower cubicle.

all in all its a very comfortable caravan and we did not miss the extra space provided by a front locker as there is loads of storage under the fixed bed. it would have been nice to have a couple of wet lockers on the outside for ramps blocks etc.

its a really comfortable van for the two of us and our 3 "westies", however if would be a bit tight if used as a 4 berth family van.

Using the supplied chopping board which fits into the recess on the sink increases the area considerably.
