Byreside Caravan Park (Near The Metro Centre)

Recommended Posts

The other half wants to do a shopping trip to the Metro Centre before Christmas and this site looks good.

Couple of the pics on the site (link below) show narrow lanes and I'm wondering if these are the access/exit roads. Not the kind of road you'd want to meet oncoming traffic on!

Anybody been to this site? Is access ok?

Thanks

200yd farm track isn't too long but the lane leading to the track looks narrow as well.

Acess to the other site looks better though it's a bit more expensive.

Decisions, decisions

There's always The Grange at Durham. 200yds from the A1(M) then a 15 minute drive to the Metro. ...

It's a Caravan club site.

I read the reviews and decided to have a look up. ...never been back, If its just for the shopping there is a site at Rowlands Gill (Derwent Park or something like that). If you want to make a weekend of it Finchale Abbey is nice (no kids though) or as Jan & Jay said The Grange at Durham.

Caravan Club Site the Grange, Durham would be good. Easy access and no problem to the Metro Centre or park and ride to Durham itself worth a look for shopping too.

Hi

I live near to this site and I used to store my van there. Access is no problem. The site access road whilst narrow was never a problem and the nearby roads were fine. The site is in a wonderful area for walking and cycling etc

I endorse that - the Coast to Coast cycle path runs alongside the site and you could cycle to the Metrocentre in 15 mins along traffic free paths - or on into Newcastle in another 15 mins. Fantastic walking area also. You'll probably bump into me and the dogs at some point!
