Dyffryn Bern Holiday Park

http://www. dyffrynbern. co. uk

We have had two fantastic holidays this season at this site:

They are on the west coast of Wales, just north of Cardigan. There are three fantastic golden (dog friendly) beaches nearby all with pubs serving good food & real ale: Tresaith (1 mile), Aberporth (2 miles) & Llangrannog (3 miles).

There's another nice site (Llety Caravan park) 500 yds from Tresaith but it's on the cliff top so if the weather is unkind you might be a bit wind swept.

Brynawelon Touring & Camping Park

Another stunning site a couple of miles further away from the beaches is Brynawelon Touring & Camping Park.

Wales has a New Quay which a few miles north. It's a nice place with a good (dog friendly) beach but avoid Neuadd Caravan Park. Half a mile from the beach with a pub on the doorstep it seems a good choice. The owners are really friendly too. BUT. .. The tourer field is like the north face of the Eiger (you'll need wheel chocks & lots of steady blocks) and there are permanently sited vans that look like petri dishes. These are occupied by seasonal workers that thrash their knackered old cars around at 2AM.

It was a stay at this site that forced us to find the others - and we're REALLY glad we did. The coast is stunning in this part of Wales.

For the foodies amongst you, check out the farm shop on the A487 and look for the trout fishery & smoke house
