Holland - Eindhoven, Near Eersel

Recommended Posts

The site is located between Eersel and Bergeijk to the south east of Eindhoven and is well positioned for visiting the northern Belgium and southern Holland.

We stayed at this site for just over a week at the end of August.

This is a large site spread over a big area, the site is a mixture of shady forest and un-shaded fields, however at no time do you feel cramped as the site has been subdivided into smaller separate areas marked by hedging with each area containing approximately 20 pitches. All the pitches were serviced, but some had private bathrooms and some had what appeared to be private bathrooms and food preparation/ kitchen areas. There were also a few wooden chalets. Caravans are pitched side on against the hedge. The pitches were very generous, we only used a porch awning but some of the Dutch caravans had a 3. 5m awning, annexe, full size sunscreen and shed to keep the bikes!!

This site is probably the most child friendly site we have stayed on. There were 2 or 3 outdoor pools of varying depth, there was also an excellent indoor pool complex with small slides for younger children. There was a large central play area complete with zip wire swing, slides and climbing equipment. There was also a sandpit which must have been the size of a football pitch complete with bouncy pillow, a castle, a pirate ship and other stuff. In addition to these areas, each “enclave” of caravans had its own sand pit, swings, slide and small “Wendy” house where young children could play safely in the sight of their parents. There was a very active children’s club where the kids could come and go as they pleased. The entertainers all spoke English and our children were made to feel very welcome.

Toilet facilities were first class, and included family bathrooms, shower cubicles with 2 showers so a parent and child could shower simultaneously, all were modern and spotlessly clean 24/7.

The restaurant and bar prices were comparable to the nearby towns.

During the first few days of our stay, the site was very busy but in the second half of the week it became very quite. As the families left, they were replaced by older couples who were just enjoying the peace and quiet.

All in all, this is an excellent site and one I would thoroughly recommend.
