Leisure Battery

Hi again just need some more advice please. I own a 1993 lunar venus it didn't come with a leisure battery but have been told I need one to save damaging the power supply/charger, is this true can anyone help. thanks

If a battery box is provided it is a good idea to put a battery in it.

 

Some vans will work without a battery but it is probably setup for 12volt Battery to operate lights and water pump.

Most modern vans come with a 10A or 20A PSU/charger, but a van of the age of yours will only have a 10A PSU.

With a pump running at approx 7A, a double tube fluorescent light at 1. 5A etc, your usage will easily go over your 10A supplies ability to cope and it will be damaged.

You always should have a battery to provide the necessary current, and only rely on the PSU to charge the battery up again.
