Battling With High Winds

Hi all,

Well, our Peg was duly booked in to our dealers (35 miles away) today to have the pleated blinds changed under warranty (white spots syndrome) and we worried that we wouldn't get there safely in all the high winds prevailing across the country. If we'd been going anywhere else we would have cancelled, but as we'd delayed the dealer so we could undertake our summer hols, we thought we'd better try and get there.

We encountered plenty of fallen twigs/branches, had one heavy(ish) twig bounce off the roof of the car - thankfully with no damage (that we can see anyway) and we eventually made it safely to the dealers - plenty of blustery gales along the way and towing speed greatly reduced for safety measure.

Sincerely hope that everyone who's towing today has a safe journey and that the gales have died down by Wednesday, when we go back to collect the van.

Glen.

PS To Amanda (CT member who we met personally in Germany recently) - yes we did see you in Usk today, but not quickly enough to reciprocate the horn blowing! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.

Well it's Wednesday and the wind has died - lucky you!

Haven't got it back yet - not so easy to change the blinds as they first thought! Hopefully tomorrow, but yes, the winds have died down - thank goodness!

Same here, just been to check on my caravan and the awning's still standing :o Had to do a slight minor temporary repair as had a tear in one of the windows but considering how bad the wind was that's nothing. Still windy but died down alot and it's cold!
