Twiggy1953
Hi everyone, We have recently bought a 2009 Swift Conqueror. We are new to caravanning and are trying to get our heads around the different systems. What we don't understand is when exactly we have to press the car battery button on the control panel. We know that to make the fridge work when towing it has to be on "van", so when does it have to be set on "car". This is probably a very stupid question but I've read the handbook and still can't figure it out. Can anyone help?
PabloOnCaravans
From what I can glean, its when the Van battery is flat. On start-up the control panel looks for the first available power source i. e. Van, Mains or Car. If it finds Mains, its intelligent enough to use it. If not on EHU, the Van Battery would probably be found first. If neither can be found, switch over to Car.

Hi Twiggy If you post in the Swift section then Andy or Ash from Swift will Correct me if I am wrong The car setting will only be used if not on a hook up and the van battery is Flat ( below 10. 5 volt the control panel shuts down )) Plug the "S" plug into the car "S"socket and set to Car recommend only in an emergency could drain the car battery Dave
