New Awning Rail

Hi there was wondering if anyone could tell me the price of an off side awning rail for an Abbey Spectrum 540. We have been quoted £499 by a mobile engineer for parts and fitting. The awning rail alone he say's will £250 for the rear half. This seems a little steep?

Awning rails are not cheap - my understanding is that it is to do with the fact that they have to be made to the profile of the specific van. We had half of ours replaced as part of an insurance job repairing accident damage. I can't find the papaperwork for it, but as I remember the cost of the rail was the biggest part of it.

Sounds reasonable to me - we are having our (old) van repaired in a similar way plus some touching up where the awning rail screws gouged a wee bit out of the rear corner - insurance claim was £430.
