Hi, I have just bought the above caravan, a 1993 model. It is a large van but the plate has on it 1200kg max laden weight. I am surprised at this, as my previous ABI Award was much smaller and 1350kg max!

Anyway, it needs tidying, new seat cushions making (any recomendations in the north east) nand a very good clean!

I will update on 'restoration' as it continues.

Any advice on the 'ALDE' water system would be good!

I have not picked up caravan yet as it is on the south coast, so just getting info before i collect next week.

Thanks all.

paul.

I answered you on PC forum but sorry either you've misread the weights or it ain't a 93 model??

If you have a picture of the front end I can date it from that?

thanks for the reply. Actually i dont think i am going to go through with this purchase. On the photo i can see that there was another plate, and the plate seems to be stamped from outside. Things dont add up. Also its not CRiS marked on the windows. Could you pm me your email address and I will send a couple of photos to see what you think? I cant figure how to put on here, although i will kep trying!

Many thanks, Paul.

The CRiS scheme was introduced in 1992 so all caravans manufactured after then should be marked on the windows. The photos seem to show that it has high level side/rear marker lights that were introduced in 1991, so it could be a 1991 model. The 600 model is the biggest in the range. This seems doubtful going by the weight plate. No doubt Gary can identify it better

Well the plot thickens! the seller tels me he is selling for a friend who has a caravan park. This van was 'abandoned' and all attempts to trace the buyer and get park fees from him have failed oiver the last 9 months, so they are selling the van to recoup fees owing. It has no cushions, and black spot mould all over as though it had been abandoned.

I assume I am right in n ow thinking don't touch it with a barge pole?

Price? was to be £1000

I would walk away, it might be genuine but there are other caravans out there for sale that you can trace the provence on.

Keep looking you will find what you are looking for.
