devondave
Hi all I am looking to replace my 2 reading light bulbs on my Ranger 640/4 with LED lights to reduce the power consumption when on a site with no mains hook up. It is just a direct replacement for the bulb I am looking at. I did look at a recent caravan show but all the types I looked at seemed a lot more bigger and bulkier. Has anyone successfully replace theirs and if so where were they purchased? Thanks Dave
JanB
We bought replacement LED lamps for all our lights in the van at the Newark show last weekend - there are lots of different sizes available. You need to find the details of the bulbs you already have and then you will be able to get their equivalent as LED lamps, you can now get white or warm led lamps instead of the old blue ones - much nicer light to sit in. Thanks Dave If you are looking to replace halogen lamp bulbs I can recommend these - http://cgi. ebay. co. uk/Bailey-Caravan-12v-A. ..1QQcmdZViewItem I bought mine from here and they work beautifully and are a straight swap for the filament bulbs, pretty much the same size and very simple to fit. The only drawback is the light you get from them, I find it very white and quite harsh compared to filament bulbs but excellent for reading as it's more like daylight. Have to say I was more than impressed when these arrived, excellent quality and a good price. Have Bailey - Will Travel
vizzy
A friend has just replaced all the lamps in his caravan with LEDs to lower his power consumption when not on ehu. The G4s in the spots were replaced with warm white 1. 2w LEDs. These weren't bright enough for the main lights so he bought some 1. 9w LED G4 replacements with a slightly different mounting. He's really happy with the results. I'm going to change the reading spots to LEDs as I find the existing ones too hot to sit under. There quite a few sites you can get them from http://ultraleds. co. uk/ http://www. lamps2udirect. com/pages/browse-..._Light_Bulbs/12 Or use google to search for the something like "g4 LED" or "mr11 LED", there's loads of them.
