jan69c
We are thinking of taking a couple of weeks off and going somewhere different. We fancy going From Hull to Rotterdam and having a few nights in Holland, then touring up to Denmark through Germany. Has anyone done this, and if so would two weeks be enough ? Any feedback or advice would be great. Quote RegardsIan

Hi Ian - reckon you could do that in 2 weeks as the distances aren't great, but reckon it might be easier to come back from Esberg - if you are planning to do it soon, give us an update when you return please as we are going from Harwich - Esbjerg on the 31st May - spending 6 weeks or so in Denmark, Germany and Holland before returning from Rotterdam to Hull in July. as we are retired, we don't have to worry about all that "taking a couple of weeks off malarky" Quote Bessacarr Cameo 525 towed by SsangYong Rexton 2.2 auto in Brown. jan69c
Wont be going soon, but would probably go Hull - Rottedam, and Esbjerg - Harwich on the way back. I have just found out I am already taking an extra holiday this year, it was meant to be a surprise So looks like I will do that early next year. Yossa
Denmark must be one of the most boring countries in the EU. We were looking forward to visiting the Museum of Contemporary Design in Copenhagen but we would have been better off going to our local Ikea store. Denmark is also expensive and you have to drive around on dipped beam. ...whats that about? Yossa We are going (see previous post) because a Danish couple we met in Spain last year invited us and suggested we meet up to play golf - hopefully, with some local knowledge available we might see more than we would do otherwise. if boring, will pick up and head either north or south as it takes us. Lived there for 2 years and would have to agree pretty boring!! We used our hols the first year to go North to Sweden, Norway & Arctic Circle (loads of mosquitoes!!) and the second year Germany, Austria, Switzerland. It is very expensive but the people make up for it as they are very nice. Quote Alan JBailey Pageant S6 Bordeaux Tow Car BMW X5 3. 0D
jennifernn
denmark is not boring, it is just different. there is a lot of viking history, if that interests you, and how about the original legoland? lots of nice places in denmark. not as spectacular as norway, but not as expensive either. denmark is to norway as england is to scotland. different but interesting. Andy B
denmark is not boring, it is just different. . ..... different but interesting. I thought Copenhagen & Aalborg were great places to visit, and that was as a young 20 something. In about 1985 I went to Copenhagen more times than I came back to Pompey. We used to drop the Booties off in the snow so they could play war games, while we went on the pi$$ in Copenhagen. We'd to 'park up' near the little mermaid - not as big as you'd think - for a few days, & then go back and pick up the Lean Mean Fighting Machines & then sail home . ... all courtesy of The Grey Funnel Line.
