princejim
We are looking for a good all facility site with good child friendly activities for 6 to 7 year olds. The site needs to be in the Dorset Hampshire area near to the Jurassic coastline and good beaches, would be nice with access to a beach. We have looked at Sandford, which is the type of site we are looking for, but found a few none complimentary reviews on the net, so any suggestions would be gratefully received. Netty
I have a couple of favourite sites in this area. My all time fave quiet site is Oakdown which is near Sidmouth. There's no pool but there's a lovely play area, loads of grassy space and a games room. The site staff are extremely friendly and will help you pitch up. The donkey sanctary is over the road (not so close that you can hear them but close enough to walk) and you can walk down to the beach (although it is really quite steep.) You can walk to the main costal paths that run along the coast too. My second fave site is Hillhead near Brixham. This is fab because you have the most gorgeous pool which reminds you of being in Spain, a bar and amuzements. The pitches are gorgeous with many looking over the sea. I think this is walking distance to some costal paths but I'm not 100% sure on this. Hope you find a fantastic park!!!!
spursboy61
Have a look at the Lulworth Estate. Camping, caravanning and chalets for rent. Steep walk down to Durdle Door beach. We saw lots of young children on the beach while we were there.(P. S. about a mile up the coast from Lulworth Cove). Carlight
You could always try Freshwater Beach near Bridport. Has all the facilities for younger children with a beach at the bottom of the site. phutchison
We went to West Bay (one of the Parkdean resorts) and really liked it. Good pool, OK camp site and really nice area. West Bay Harbour and all it's surrounding pubs, restaurants etc. with walking distance from the site. Must admit that we went at quite a quiet time last year - don't think that there are enough facilities if the site was full. sandy
Hi Wood Farm Charmouth. Close to good fossil beach, swimming pool, fishing, playground, games room. Excellent site with all of the facilities expected of a CC affiliated site. Sandy
Guest
We also enjoyed Wood Farm with similar aged kids. If you go to Charmouth then do book a fossil walk at the Charmouth Fossil Centre, it was excellent and the kids listened with rapt attention and loved hunting rosks with potential fossils inside. One was fantastic.

Netty
Anyone know of any Devon sites with swimming pools that don't cost the earth?? I was thinking less than £15. Think I'm dreaming really.
chillypenguin
Not quite Devon (Somerset), but how about http://www. hoburne. co. uk/blueanchor_main. asp It has an indoor pool, is next to the beach. OK, no club house and a road between the park and the beach. We have booked a week in June for about ~£10 per night.
