bigbilly
Just out of interest. ... We have a 2006 Bessacarr Cameo 495 (1,550 Kgs) which is the best 'handling' caravan we have ever towed albeit on our 2006 X Trail 2. 2 Dci where it is close to the recommended limit. It was fitted with the red Al-Ko stabilizers as standard but the tyres are 205/65 15" which seems quite large for a caravan. Would the size of these tyres help or hinder stability ? Is this size common on single axle caravans today ? Bill
RogerL
A caravan with 1550kg MTPLM needs substantial tyres. I doubt the stability difference between large tyres and smaller "C" rated tyres, of the same load index, would be noticeable although there is a theoretical difference because larger wheels will have a marginally greater gyroscopic effect which will have a marginal benefit on stability.
