<_< My 1997 ABI Dawnstar has a onboard water tank which is filled through an external filler cap, my queston is can I fit a ballcock device to fill the tank from a hose connected to the water tap on site. Any help on this subject will be taken on board no pun intended.

Cheers David. ;)

Provided there is sufficent access to the tank this should work OK. Use a side-entry Torbeck valve as they are very compact. Alternatively, you could fit a 'Superpitch' inlet which has a male 'Hozelock' type fitting with a pressure reducing valve. You would need a non-return valve to avoid the need for switching taps.
