Hi all if you have a gravel pitch. What do you put on the floor. Of the awning what’s the most popular for floor so don’t feel the gravel thank you

I have no problem with stones under an Isabella carpet. But we don't run about in bare feet.

Also have a cheap breathable carpet for grass.

You need something reasonably thick to “cushion” the effects of gravel, standard awning carpet is just too thin. Not a real problem at this time of year, but when the weather is warm and you don’t want to wear shoes all the time (like me) then you do need something thicker .

Aldi did some a while back now so worth keeping an eye out next spring.

Experience is something you acquire after you have an urgent need for it.

:Plus1: we lay our awning mat and then put the tiles on top for extra comfort.

we used the black rubbish bags to keep ours in,  :) although TBH  we now have a fairly decent awning carpet, but like Mr. P  says you can't go without something on your feet or there will always be one rock that will catch you out.

Looked at the interlocking tiles, they take up a lot of space to transport. We already have a load of junk to carry with us, don't need any more.

We don't bother with flooring in the awning, find it a faff. Nothing nicer than damp grass underfoot, if gravel or tarmac scalpings (as on our last site) then sandals or "crocs" will cushion the feet. :)

Plus on gravel you will hear any strangers sneaking into your awning at night!

There is some weight, but there is a lot of bulk.

:Plus1: Same here and we use the previous Isabella carpet underneath to keep the worm casts off the newer one on top.
