Front towing covers are a good idea!

I have a cheap generic front cover, cost me £50.

I modified it slightly for strap length and so nothing flaps about when towing so no concerns there.  Our van is kept on our paved  front garden, I keep the cover on when there to protect the front against the elements, seems to work well so far and I'm pleased with it.

When we arrive at site the cover is folded up and stored in the front hatch, it doesn't take up much room, about the size of an A4 lever arch file.

I use a Specialised cover.  Takes five mins to fit by myself and protect the front from stone chips and bug splats. Would not be without it

They are not designed to be left on , they will end up with muck and grit washed  behind them with the rain and that will scuff your windows and front panel over time. your van your choice obviously. your supposed to clean the front before fitting

Those that have, and use, front covers will nearly always extoll their virtues because that’s the perception they had when they bought them. Others have, and do, manage just fine without them.

It’s the same with just about any accessory, some rate sat navs,  others are happy with just a map, others insist on having ATC some think they are a waste of time, and then there’s that good old favourite, trackers!! :P

Experience is something you acquire after you have an urgent need for it.

It does get cleaned before fitting, then left on for protection.

Totally agree. Mine is fitted only for travelling. On the one occasion I didn't get around to removing it immediately when getting home because of a couple of days of horrendous weather I was surprised at how dirty it had got behind the cover in that short time.

Basically you have to weigh up the cost against the possibility of damage and make your own mind up. Do bear in mind that if you change the caravan the cover may not fit the new one and it then needs replacing.
